Richard Beaupre, LICSW, is an independent licensed clinical social worker who began his career as a therapist in 2007 after a 25 year successful career in sales and marketing, and as an entrepreneur. Richard is a graduate of the Boston College Graduate School of Social Work and had first spent his career as a psychotherapist and couples counselor at a Massachusetts community mental health agency treating individual adults and couples before starting Journey, LLC. During that time he sought out specialized training and supervision in leading evidence-based treatment modalities. Richard also practices evidence-based treatments in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution Focused, and Gottman treatment modalities.
Richard’s own life’s journey has lead him from participating in a family business, to running his own jewelry business, and then towards making a career change in his early 40’s due to a life altering religious experience before battling cancer in his early 50’s. As well as various evidence based treatment strategies, Richard also incorporates his own life experiences to validate and normalize his client’s experiences, challenges and struggles.
Richard offers Catholic Christian faith-based counseling for those individuals and couples who wish to integrate aspects of their faith and spirituality into therapy. Richard practices the Catholic faith and respects all view-points, faiths and spiritual traditions. Richard has been married 35 years, has 3 adult children, and volunteers his time as a church musician.
